Volunteering
Since the beginning of high school I focused my volunteering into student council. I began volunteering around my community and at my old elementary school during my summer break in grade 9. My friends and I were bored at home and had nothing to do.
The first volunteering program I joined was the Frog Hollow: Frogs in the park program. It was a really fun program which involved playing and teaching kids sports, and arts. Most of the time I was a part of the sports committee, while other times I was apart of the arts committee. The awesome part of this program was getting to see young children smile and having fun and learning. Sometimes we had senior volunteers who bought watermelons for the children and I also took part in cutting them. That was really fun also.
I continued volunteering throughtout new few summers at the Frogs in the Park program, and also joined Maquinna's Rec and Read Program. My friend Jackson and I were apart of the computers committee our job was to assist the kids with their english program. A funny thing that always happened was that the kids would always forget about their own name. Later on in the day we would go outside and teach the kids how to play soccer and other sports. Sometimes we like to sit under a shady tree and play a minigame, while other times we like to read under the shady tree.
In school I am currently a part of the Free the Children's Club, and Student Council. I wish to join more clubs in the future because its fun and helps me develop personal, communicational, and physical skills. I encourage anyone who is reading this to do so too as it will help you in many ways in your future.
